EAT.

SPOILER ALERT: We all have unique needs when it comes to nutrition - it’s not one size fits all. However, aside from major health concerns, it’s pretty hard to go wrong if you stick with reasonable portions of real, whole foods.

Based on what the experts are telling us, there are two paths to higher health. One, a keto-tarian diet that involves high amounts of good fat, lots of veggies, and moderate amounts of good protein. The other path is vegan - which focuses on cutting out dairy and animal protein with a heavy emphasis on veggies again.

This is something that only you can figure out for your own body. When you start to feel energized and less foggy, then you know your body is responding as it should be.

So what should you eat? Your mombody loves good fats like grass-fed butter, ghee, MCT oil, coconut oil, avocados and their oil, walnut oil, sesame oil. Your mombody also loves vegetables that are every color of the rainbow. And moderate amounts of protein is pretty awesome for your mombody too. This is how you build a really beautiful plate of food.

Your mombody also loves probiotic-rich foods like kefir, sauerkraut and kimchi to keep your momBRAIN and momBELLY super healthy so it can absorb all this goodness you are feeding it. Turns out, your skin loves probiotic food too. Prebiotics (apples, bananas, asparagus, onions, garlic, leeks) are also important because they feed your probiotics.

It’s amazing how your mombody is able to rebalance hormones, feel completely energized, boost metabolism, lower inflammation, boost brain health, remove hot flashes, and eliminate cravings just by eating really good food.

You will notice something right away - if you feel hungry again within two hours of eating then you aren’t eating enough fat. You will gradually start to add more fat into your diet. Fat is your mombody’s new best friend.

You truly won’t believe how awesome it is to see your mombody “eat” away the stubborn fat on your waistline and thighs by eating more saturated fat. It’s kind of amazing.

So, are we reducing our carb intake? Yes, your carb intake natuarlly goes down when you take out processed foods like bread, cereal, bagels, pizza, french fries. We are bumping up our fat intake and the magic doesn’t happen if you are eating high carb (foods like bread and pasta) and high fat at the same time.

Will I eat carbs ever again? YES! This is the best part - your mombody needs carbs to be happy. And your mombody absolutely needs good carbs like sweet potatoes and other root vegetables.

But let’s go back to fat for a second…

Fat is what your body prefers to use for energy since it’s clean and slow burning. On the flip-side, carbohydrates are oxidative (dirty) and quick burning which is why we are constantly hungry, irritable, and can’t stop dreaming about chocolate and croissants. Eating carbs at every meal, all day long, is what gets our mombodies into trouble. If you reset your body throughout our 6 weeks together, I promise you will never look at carbs the same way again.

Let me ask this again….does this mean I can never eat carbs ever, ever again if I want keep my newly slim waistline? Absolutely not! In fact your mombody loves when you eat GOOD carbs because it raises your serotonin levels (happy hormones make for a happy mama). In fact, it’s best to cycle in and out of being a fat burner which is important to remember once the program ends. This is called metabolic flexibility. So even when you eat carbs, your body will still prefer to use fat as it’s primary source of fuel.

The trick here is to: Keep your body guessing.

But for the next six weeks, we need to slow down on the carbs and introduce them again in a way that makes sense for your UNIQUE mombody. You will know much more about how many carbs your body can handle once you’ve been through this program (enough carbs to “scratch the itch” but also not too many to make you sleepy) . Some moms do better eating low carb/high fat all the time. Others do great eating higher carbs if exercising is a large part of their lives. Your body, your business.

In summary: Eating good fats, lots of veggies, pre/probiotic foods, moderate protein is the best way to feed a healthy mombody. And this way of eating is recommended by doctors & nutritionists that help millions of women all over the world.
